Why Praise God?
“For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods” (Psalm 96:4).
“Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom” (Psalm 145:3).
“I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies” (2 Samuel 22:4).
“You are worthy, our LORD and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being” (Revelation 4:11).

40 Days Of Purpose Driven Life Campaign Starts Today
October 21, 2008
Week 1: What On Earth Am I Hear For?
Well, we’re off and runing on the 40 Days of Purpose campaign! Memorize your verse this week, start in a 40 days of Purpose (Bible Study/Sunday School Class), and read the first seven daily readings in the 40 days of Purpose Life. Then Next week come back to hear about the first purpose, and perhaps the most revolutionary one, Worship. Worship may be themost misunderstood word in the church. Come next week and hear what God has to say on the subject!
Next Week: You Were Planned for God’s Pleasure
Understanding Praise
October 21, 2008
Praise when it is upon our lips usually means that we are happy
and content, hid in Christ in God. The fact of the matter is that it’s
pretty hard to be angry and praising God at the same time.
Praising God is one of the greatest things that we can be doing.
Praise him for your marriage. Praise Him if you are not married.
Praise Him for your health. Praise Him that you were born in a
free country. Praise Him for the workplace you go to each
morning. Praise Him for your salvation. Praise God! Praise God!
Today have you started off your day praising God, just thanking
Him for the beauty of the day? Praise is a simple thing for those
that are thankful, but praise is a mouth full of gravel to those that
are lost.
Beauty can praise itself for a short time until old age has caught
up to it. Intellect can praise itself for a short time until Alzheimer’s
has taken hold. Sports can praise itself for awhile. The young and
old can praise God now and forever. There is no loss of praise
with age, just more appreciation for the love of God towards His
children.
