Every Good and Perfect Gift Comes from the Father

Looking back exactly a year ago, December 20, 2006 woke us up with the “startling” news that Ikthus was under water. That experience brings to mind the myriad thoughts and realizations that will be forever etched in many hearts.December 19, 2007, woke us up with another “overwhelming” news! Yes, Ikthus is flooded again! However, this time not with water but with indescribable joy…renewed hope…and a faith strengthened in God who has delivered to us His promised blessing!

Last night during the General Assembly, BCCB members who attended unanimously moved to purchase the 1,220 sq.m. property where Ikthus Center now stands. The shortest meeting in the history of BCCB, it lasted for just forty five minutes. The unity of the Spirit permeated each and every one present that evening. Everyone left knowing that God has finally answered our prayer. This is truly our PROMISED LAND! No wonder, God prepared us through Pastor Joe’s Romans 4 sermon last week.

THE DREAM….January 27, 2002, 1:30 p.m., 1st Leadership Conference, Sugarland Hotel. The seed money was planted by several BCCB members who believed God will give us a place of our own. Soon after the Promised Land Ministry(PLM) was born.

THE DECISION…January 16, 2004, 6:00 p.m. BCCB B-B-Q PARTY, Pendy’s Mandalagan, Bacolod City. In obedience to God’s leading and direction, a lease contract was drawn between BCCB and Ms. Pendy Maravilla. Ikthus Center has a new home! Against all odds, many of us chose to believe that this property is our PROMISED LAND.

THE DELAY…THE DOUBT…THE DESPAIR… THE DIFFICULTIES… 2006 , the property was up for sale for P150 Million! Lord, how can we afford this? This is just utterly beyond us! In the course of the waiting time, some stood by the vision, some lost it.

THE DEAD-END…Despite all the negotiations, it was still insurmountable! Lord, if it is truly your will that this place be ours, You have to do it for us, Lord! Only YOU can do it for us!

THE DELIVERANCE…December 18, 2007. The waiting time is over! GOD handed the first portion of our Promised Land to us! IT’S OURS! THANK YOU, LORD!

God has reminded us once more of His covenant in Jeremiah 32:41-44, “I will establish them permanently in this land…deeds will be signed, sealed and witnessed…I, the Lord have spoken.”

What a wonderful Christmas gift from the Lord to all of us here in BCCB! Have a blessed Christmas everyone!
